[When Diarmuid next checks his mailbox, there will be a small package with two rings in it, plain silver and obviously handmade. The most complicated aspect of the rings is a Celtic knot pattern (grabbed from one of the books in the library) etched into the surface that, when the two were placed together, completed the pattern. They aren't perfect, and it's easily the work of an amateur, with knots sometimes too big or too small or not completely formed, but all the matching edges flow smoothly together.]
(OOC: Bah, I just realized they don't get back from the event until the 31st/1st. Waver's post is on the 2nd, so we will just say that Diarmuid's responses came on the 1st instead of the 31st!)

Did you want me to do something with these for you and Elena? I can ask my brother to put some protective runes on them...

[Yes...he totally missed the point.]
Letter; Placed at his door same day
They're for you and Waver

Letter; Placed at his door that night
Why?

Letter; Placed there before bed time!
I've been thinking about everything that you said.
There's a saying on Earth, right? Carpe diem. It's similar to something we used to say back on Gaia.
"Grab Life and hold on."
You were right, Dee. As the man that married in this hell despite everyone telling him it's crazy, I'm saying; screw the idiots.

Letter; Placed there early the next morning.
...
Thank you. I...will talk to him.

Oh, sorry. I started writing and then stopped to think and rested the pen against the paper.
I probably shouldn't do that since I tend to tap my pen while I'm thinking.

He's living in the lab again. I'm going to go talk to him once I drop this off.
You will have to wait for your gossip a while longer.
