Am I going to need to grab some wood to repair the castle's kitchens on my way back then?
[An odd look crosses his face when he notices her shoulder.]
You might want to tighten your sash, Beloved. I would hate for you to catch a cold...
no subject
I had help from the faeries! The kitchen is intact. [Ahem!] I found something special for us when I was gathering herbs in the forest. I have a full meal with all your favorites,
And... my sash is not loose, dear heart. I'm not wearing it.
[There's really no mistaking that, is there?]

[He really didn't want to have to explain to the High-Queen why his wife destroyed the kitchens. Diarmuid is about to tease her more about her cooking when something catches his attention.]
What do you mean you aren't wearing your sash? Did it get lost?

[Not totally true, but...]
no subject
Of course, what fun is it to let her know he's caught on so soon?]
Beloved, I know cooking isn't really your thing, but this takes it to a new level. However, by the time I get back, you might have already caught a cold. Surely, there must be someone whose clothes you can borrow...
no subject
[Really, Diarmuid? Two can play at that game. Trying to trick someone who knows you so well...]
I hear that Lord Hound is out right now. Perhaps I could ask him if anyone has left something in my size in his quarters?
[Bluff. Called.]

[He's not giving in that easy Grainne. Keep trying.]
Though, you know what else is a good idea? Looking in my room. Who knows what you might find there...

Oh, is Lord Kayneth's betrothed here after all?
Re: 2
[There is a choking sound and then it is obvious Diarmuid drops his locket. Fortunately, he is fast enough to catch it before it drops too far, but he almost falls out of the tree doing so.]
She better not be!
[Or else he is never going in there again...]
no subject
Well, I had been teasing you. She tried to seduce you, didn't she?
no subject
[Diarmuid answers quickly, as he regains his balance.]
I mean...she watches me and sometimes gives me odd looks, but she hasn't tried anything.
[He almost adds 'yet' to that, but doesn't. The last thing he wants to do is think about that...]
no subject
But you are worried she might. I had wondered if there was something going unspoken there between the three of you.
Well, come home, my knight. I will keep you company and in the morning we can speak of it before you go back to hunt. I have more than dinner waiting here for you.
no subject
[Ah, but it's her will that is lacking, isn't it?]
Oh, do you?
[Diarmuid grins, glad for the chance to change the topic.]
It just so happens there is something hiding in my room for you too...
no subject
Oh, I thought you were simply teasing me about that... I suppose I shall have to have dinner taken to your room then.
I will let you guess what mine is; a warrior's bosom companion.

[The sly look on his face is a clear sign he is only joking.]
As much as I would like to know, don't tell me now. I want it to be a surprise.
[There is a slight rustling as he jumps out of the tree.]
I will be back in about an hour. I would like to search this area one last time before returning. And, no, I was not teasing. Why don't you go see if you can find it before I get back? It will give you something to do.
no subject
I will be waiting for you, dear heart. I am sure I will find it!
