[The amount of emotion that hits Diarmuid when Gilgamesh drapes himself around him is bad, but when the golden king breaks out that commanding voice, so many more emotions join the previous ones that Diarmuid cannot even think. Part of him will always respond to such a commanding presence no matter how much he learns to stand on his own. Following the orders of a lord--of a king--is so easy for him, so natural. Add in the fact that another part of him wants to give in and accept what is being offered...
Then there are the conflicting emotions. His vows to Grainne. His knowledge that this is probably all harp fed because why else would such a great king show such interest in him, a knight so far beneath him that he shouldn't even dare to breath the same air?
