Duty. There are few better ways that Gilgamesh could have phrased it to make Diarmuid understand. As a man who places such high value on duty, Diarmuid will never tell another not to do his and this...how can this kind of 'fix' not be the duty of one who so proudly carries the title of 'King of Heroes'? And while Diarmuid might not really feel a 'fix' is necessary, one such as Gilgamesh certainly would.

Besides, Diarmuid also has unfinished business with Saber. It might not drive Diarmuid as much as it drives Gilgamesh, but he can understand the feeling just a little bit.

Diarmuid leans back against the tree next to the golden king and finally frees his hand so he can rest it against the center of Gilgamesh's chest, "You know I will not deny you your duty and the duty of the King of Heroes is vast. Just...don't let it take over your life. There is more to you than that duty. There is much the King of Heroes must do. If nothing else..." he rests his head against Gilgamesh's shoulder, "...you have an embarrassing fool of a subject to keep out of trouble too. And you promised me adventure and hunting. Let those things drive away the sadness. Let it help you focus so you can do what you need to do."
