Lancelot thinks on this, and inwardly he wonders if he would do such a thing himself. If he had not clashed with Gilgamesh, if he had seen as much good in a person as bad and known in his heart they would turn if not guided -- would he be the man to try and do the guiding? Would he lead someone on a path to betterment? Or would he take the easier route, would he try to stop them by force?

He is not sure he can say, is not sure he believes he has the strength and capability in himself to change a person so set in one way.

"Your intentions are noble," he allows, "and I wish you luck in your cause. I only hope... you do not end up hurt in this, Diarmuid, in your body or your heart. Some people... they have been set in their ways so long, that even if they might appear to be changing little by little... when it comes to a moment of urgency, when they must make a decision quickly, their instincts are as they always were."
