[for a very, very wide variety of reasons.]
Which means that yes, he's Seelie. I suppose I'm more comfortable having him on our end of things than having to face him, but with an ally like that, who even needs enemies...

[Diarmuid's few moments of 'interaction' with the golden servant...with Gilgamesh...had told him quite a few things about the man, but nothing really about him. Any information they can gather about him will be very useful. After all, Diarmuid knows very well that just because someone is Seelie, doesn't mean they won't willingly sacrifice those on their own side if it suits their needs. They will just do it in a more poetic manner.]
Were you able to find out 'when' he was from?

[...and really, he kind of expects that from Gilgamesh, but...]
...He seems to be from "after" us both, but I suspect it's from some world where things went extremely poorly.

[Diarmuid remembers far too vividly how Gilgamesh had attacked Berserker that night. The Mad Servant might have been skilled enough to turn some of those weapons back at Gilgamesh, but Diarmuid doubts Kayneth would have had a chance.]
So I should brace myself for taunts about a bad end when I meet him? I will keep that in mind and make sure to ignore his words...
[Some things may be Fated to happen, but others, those Diarmuid will never give up fighting for no matter what anyone tells him. He does not break the vows he makes and he vowed to win the war for his lord.]

[Why is he trying to be nice? Why not just say 'self-centered bastard?']
...he is, the Monarchs may have sealed some of his abilities. Hopefully, they will remain that way for a while. At least until we can get some kind of idea about what his plans here are.

...I suppose I should ask you if you know anything out of the ordinary I could include, as I think that being in his good graces would be better for the both of us than not...

[There is sharing information because they are working toward a similar goal and then there is sharing information that might put someone in danger. Guess which of those Diarmuid is not willing to do?]
Has he been told that he can activate his shard? I would be willing to teach him how if that would help appease him any.
[That seems like as good a place to start as any.]

[...MAN, NOW HE WANTS TO KNOW...]
That seems like the best thing, anyway --- it's the baseline of what we all ought to know when we first get here.

[Be patient, young magus. Soon you too will have secrets to keep...]
I realize on one hand we are offering to make him stronger, but on the other, perhaps learning how to master his shard will distract him from other things for a while.

...
No, he'll probably just get worse, won't he...

I am actually not sure on that. My gut says, yes, but if you recall his legend, there was once one who was able to leash him without causing him to grow worse. In fact, he was created by the gods just for that job.
If it happened once, perhaps with all those who are brought to this place, it could happen again.

[Right...]
I thank you for warning me about him, though. At least I will be able to keep my eyes open this way and it is less likely he will catch me by surprise.

I don't know if he'd have any more respect for you as a Heroic Spirit, but it's worth keeping on your toes all the same.

[Still, maybe that will work to their favor. If Gilgamesh hadn't noticed him, then he can't have a negative opinion of him. It will make talking to him...a little easier.]
Let me think on things for a while. If I think of anything, I will let you know.
no subject
Well, if you do come up with something, I'll thank you in advance.

[Diarmuid bows his head slightly.]
Until we speak again.
