[Diarmuid actually pales a little bit in shock. Never would he have guessed the man he had sat within the art gallery held so much magic within him. The man he had talked to over the Network? Yes, he was different, more used to magic and its uses, but...
More than anything, Diarmuid wants to ask how such a man could be the source of so much power, but in the end it is not really his business to ask. What is his business, though, is finding out more about why Dorian seems so eager to burn himself out. Anything that puts Diarmuid's king at risk is more than his business. It's his duty.]
That cannot be permitted. Is there something I can do to help stop this?
[It is one thing for a person to bring themselves to ruin, but no person has the right to drag another along with them.]

Dorian is a very foolish boy who makes very foolish decisions and forges very foolish alliances for very foolish reasons. Do not let his bluster discourage or dissuade you; he himself poses no threat and cannot bring harm to our cause.
[They don't sound like very kind words, and that's because they aren't. Dorian has displeased Gilgamesh, and displeased him severely. Less like Master and Servant, they seem more like a pair of feuding brothers. The King sighs heavily, shaking his head behind the locket.]
Sex will not soothe whatever wounds he's suffered. He thinks it will, but it won't. Let him have his fun for now, but afterward...
[I'm going to throttle him. Gilgamesh grits his teeth, feeling yet another unpleasant tug at their bond.]
Afterward, if I cannot knock any sense in him, then seek him out immediately and do whatever's necessary to bring him back to reality. Beat him around a bit, if need be. He takes a punch better than you may expect. Do not feel sorry for him, not ever.

And it still doesn't explain why Dorian has suddenly changed so much, though Diarmuid is starting to guess.]
He was sent home recently, wasn't he? And a great deal of time passed for him...
[It is true that sex can be a comfort, but it cannot heal wounds that need attention. All it can do is distract from them for a while.]
Avoidance is not healing. Preventing himself from thinking about what he needs to come to terms with won't solve anything.
[Diarmuid knows. He's tried and all he did was work himself so hard that he had to spend part of April recovering from it.]
If you cannot get him to listen to you, I am not sure what luck I will have, but you know I will do my best.
[Even if he has to bloody his knuckles to do it.]
video;
Diarmuid. Cherished Knight.
[His tone softens. Loses that prickly, near paranoid edge, and he lifts the locket so that the man can see his face. It's kind.]
You know I've no issue if you take others to your bed. Your lovers are your own; mine are mine to share. I would not forbid nor restrain you in this way.
video;
W-why are we suddenly talking about this?
[it seems no matter how many times they have been together, some things still trigger a bit of embarrassment in him.]
Didn't I tell you that there is no reason for me to want anything but the best?
[Not blushing. Totally not blushing...]

Not even one orgy back in your Fianna? Truly? There were so very many of you, so many supple bodies to pass around...

[Diarmuid looking away like that doesn't really hide the red on your face...]
I mean...father spoke of them sometimes, but it was usually just two or three of us at once in the Fianna. Not a whole group! We didn't have time...
[And often, they didn't want to wake the whole camp...]

[And just because he's really that mean:]
It's an or~der. ♪

[Diarmuid doesn't want to disobey and order, but...]
I have no idea who I would bring! People don't catch my attention that easily!
[Gilgamesh...what are you doing to him?]

[E-rank Luck: always coming back to bite Lancers in the worst possible ways.]
Happy hunting, Diarmuid. I expect only the best from you.

[See this look? It is the look of a dying man...]
I...will do my best.
[Because, no matter how strange the request, Diarmuid always tries his very best. He won't accept anything less for himself and he won't insult his king with anything less.]
