MAJOR EVENTS

MASTER/SERVANT BOND CREATED W/ALYOSHA. [ ]

SETS UP HIS PERSONAL TRAINING GROUND AT CAER GLAEM. [ ]

CSI: DAONNA. [ ]

BECOMES A CAPTAIN IN THE RED HAND. [ ]

MAJOR CHANGES

POST BATTLE:

  • His right arm is missing at the shoulder.
  • There are several 'bleed over' effects from his Master/Servant bond with Alyosha because various factors. These include:
    • When his emotions are high (especially when he is angry) he will grow fangs and the pupils of his eyes will slit like a snake's eyes.
    • He will crave blood whenever his energy levels are low or whenever Alyosha is strongly craving it herself. This is partly because of her being a vampire, but also because on his world, blood is one of the things that carries magical energy and so he knows it is a source of gaining that energy should he need it.
    • Because of Alyosha's shadow magic, when Diarmuid uses his fire ring, the fire summoned will be shadow tinted instead of normal.
    • Unspecified bleed over from the sigil magic that is so tightly tied to her.

POST TIMESKIP:

  • No longer introduces himself as 'Lancer.' Instead, he uses his real name.
  • Diarmuid's fighting style shifts to something reminiscent of Capoeira. His right leg is used as much as possible in place of his missing right arm, and as a result of that, his right leg now is lightly armored from knee to foot with armor that is much like that which was once on his left arm. His boot has also been modified with a hidden blade. The blade can be released with a certain tap of his foot giving him a second weapon should he need it.

SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS

If Diarmuid was confused going into the battle, he is even more so coming out of it. Both castles lie in ruins, untold numbers are dead on all sides, and who knows how many worlds went with them? What good came of all of it? None. None that Diarmuid can see. As a result, he is pushed even more toward favoring the neutral side. Deep down, he no longer fully considers himself Seelie. The golden cloak that marks him as a knight of the Golden Cadre is not a badge of honor, but a reminder that even knights can take the wrong path. After he recovers from losing his right arm and spends some time learning to fight again, he will focus on strengthening his bonds with his family and friends. It doesn't matter what side they are on for he does not see them as Seelie or Unseelie. They are family. They are friend. That is all that matters. When not helping Alyosha, his new Master, and fighting the Neutral fight, he will also spend time training others, building his personal training ground at Caer Glaem, and...breeding bandersnatches? Well, at least trying. Who knows if the bandersnatches will cooperate...

Of course, all of that will be put to the side when it comes time to spoil babbins and mercenar-- Err, wait, that should be spoiling babbins and LEADING mercenaries. That's better...

PLANS

  • Recover from his injuries both physically and mentally.
  • Adjust to his new Master/Servant bond with Alyosha and the bleed over.
  • Learn to fight again. (Looking into a new arm will come later.)
  • Work on getting the personal training ground he has been granted built to his specifications.
  • Meet with Lancelot to discuss worries etc about Tarz's tactics.
  • Keep in contact with his Unseelie friends. Find ways to meet with them despite the crack down on cross court interaction.
  • Spend more time with Grainne.
  • Teach fighting and shard training as requested.
  • Tag team fighting with his new Master so they can learn to be badasses together. :-D
  • Do whatever he can to help the Neutral side.
  • Go hunting for new bandersnatch friends with Alice.

FOR DIA-SAMA...

[What a day. What a celebration.

Gilgamesh hadn't really intended to join in on the party to begin with; he could get free food and drink whenever and wherever he pleased, but something had lured him out from his room. Or perhaps someone, a radiant yet humble man as the guest of honor, laughing and smiling and reminding the great King what it meant to enjoy oneself in the company of friends (only one, Gilgamesh, and never again).

So they sang and they danced and had all kinds of fun, and eventually he broke away from the crowd—quietly, for one otherwise so boisterous—to retire in private. He stands by the window, hands in his pockets, and considers how far he's come that such a situation was even possible.

That he could stay in the home of an enemy, that he could reminisce with a rival Servant, and that he could find himself wishing for just a bit more time. Just one more smile, just once more chance to hear his proper name again. Of course, King of Heroes. He seemed to know it the best of anyone.

The harp plucks strong within Gilgamesh's heart. Today, he is affectionate, and nostalgic, and longing for company.]

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-17 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
[No hiding from the birthday boy, it would seem. Or from a fellow Servant. He knows as soon as his steps come, and peers with interest at the door, nodding to him once he arrives. At such close proximity, they could kill each other. But with no reason to do so, that magical signature remains warm, welcoming, and friendly, perhaps more than ever.]

Lancer. Finally stepped away from the festivities, hm? What an insult to steal all that attention away from me, the rightful star.

[He's joking—this time. He gestures for the man to join him, moving to sit on the edge of the mattress. He thrums with energy to see Diarmuid, and all the more so at the prospect of alcohol. Some things never change.]

I'll allow it, in exchange for your gift. Come.

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-17 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[So too does he, though he offers something of a... different wish. As to be expected from a King of Gilgamesh's stature.]

To the handsome man, who crossed my threshold and boldly offers me wine with his praise. Do not doubt it; I've taken note.

[And then he drinks, and drinks, and drinks. And it's so very good, which he would expect from such fine Celtic stock. Perhaps his people really did know how to have a good time. They'd proven as much during the party, anyway.

Gilgamesh's glancing at Lancer could only be called suggestive as it is now.]

I heard it took some dragging to get you here. How unfortunate you'd so carelessly turn away my affection.

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-17 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Then quite a pair we make, for one might say I suffer from exactly the opposite.

[A candid confession for a King not ordinarily so forthcoming, but the harp stringing him along has his mouth flying along with him. And it's not so much suffering, besides; there's nothing wrong with embracing your strengths and your talents. Diarmuid may simply need some assistance embracing himself, too.

Gilgamesh flops over onto his side with his half-finished glass, glancing at his companion through hooded eyes.]

But I'll accept your apology, for I know you mean it in earnest. 'tis true, that the weakness of your kind lies in that deep-rooted honor that clings so fiercely to your heart. Even so, I enjoy watching it. And you.

[Speaking of... his gaze flickers to the window.]

That was your wife beside you this eve, was it not? The woman shadowing your side.

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-18 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Would I not? I kept many beautiful young men close to me, once upon a time.

[Once upon a time was a very long time ago indeed, however. And while Gilgamesh has no qualms with taking what he wants, regardless of whether or not his prize is taken themselves, Diarmuid has earned a small shred of Gilgamesh's respect so far. The will of the harp may intend one thing, but the will of Gilgamesh is something not even the Grail could endure later on down the line.

Still, that doesn't mean he won't press his luck. His hand drifts on over, just across Diarmuid's hip. No further, though it shouldn't have to go any further to make his intent clear.]

I was just thinking that you are truly cursed to endure such a... waspish... presence. I daresay you'd prefer my sting over hers, but who am I to judge?

[A single eyebrow lifts to fill all the provocative blanks left over.]

You are something fate would forbid me to have, no?

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-18 10:40 am (UTC)(link)
[A great deal of emotion flows from Diarmuid's words. Deep-seated frustration, quiet resentment that Gilgamesh picks up on. And he's not so forgone to ignore it, or wave it aside. He listens to it all, eyes shining bright with intelligence, as he sips his wine and sets his glass aside once it is empty.

And then, without hesitation, he sits up again and drapes arms around the other man's shoulders, voice so stirring and commanding that it would be nearly impossible to ignore.]

It is not a role you need forsake, Diarmuid. We are envied because we are beautiful, I won't deny it, but...

[Well, why would he? He basks in it. His issue seems that he's been made to feel shame for it, and that's the real tragedy. Someone broke him, and not in a way Gilgamesh favors. But he isn't so forgone, either, that it can't be fixed. Not so fated that he's forbidden from having his own needs and wants.

At least Gilgamesh thinks so. And what he thinks tends to happen.]

There's no reason to deny yourself that happiness. The only curse you bear is the one you've placed upon your own heart, so if you see something you want, pursue it. If you see someone you desire, chase them. You are a knight by right and by blood, but no one can take from you the choice of where you lay down your sword at night. No man or woman or any mere liege.

[Teasing with a nudge to his face, he flashes Diarmuid one of his infamously dazzling smiles.]

None other than myself, of course! And surely I have always known you, and all the others, as king among your kind.

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-19 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Blocked by an egg?! This is truly the worst sort of fate...]

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-19 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[So close, yet so far. Ah, well, another chance, another time, and the hatching egg catches Gilgamesh's attention, too. He wanders over along with Diarmuid, a fair bit more graceful in doing so, and kneels in front of it as well, curious.]

What's inside, then? You never said.

[Tapping at the cracking shell with a tip of a finger, he laughs. With his previous mission failed, he helps chip away at some of it.]

Come on. If you're going to be born, then be born! It's the king's command, so obey me!

[...only Gilgamesh would try to bring something to life with the power of his will.]

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-20 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
[A bird, huh? Well, that did make some sense, though it's not any breed Gilgamesh has seen before. And he's seen quite a few. Brushing a bit of shell off its tiny little wings, he gives a teasing wark back at it.

The bird, or rather the chocobo, being what it is, of course warks in reply.]

Hey, it's actually kind of...

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-20 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
[CHOMP.]

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-20 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Rule number one of proper fantasy bird care: never stick your finger in front of a hungry beak.]

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-20 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Grousing.]

Control your feathery heathen, lest I strike it down from this world.

[Though it's minor as far as threats from Gilgamesh go. Already he's nudging back, trying to get a closer look at this strange creature that dared bite a King without any fear at all. What kind of bird was it, anyway? What kind of brutal, beak-snapping beast could wound a Hero so boldly?

He's since learned not to touch, but Gilgamesh does lean in on his arms, watching it munch, munch, munch on its bread.]

It's certainly... energetic. It suits you, in a way.

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-21 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[And apparently Diarmuid has good intuition, because that answer manages to sate Gilgamesh's ego. He makes another huffy sort of sound, but the knight can rest easy now: that awful temper has now subsided.

As for his question, well... Gilgamesh glances back at him, too.]

Green is the color of spring. And you are full of life, like this creature, so it suits you.

[Quite a high compliment from the King. Is it due to the harp? Maybe. Maybe not.]

[personal profile] babbylon 2015-03-22 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, now that the little rascal's settled down, Gilgamesh is back to beaming again. He was a cruel man and a crueler King, but there's yet some softness left within him for animals. For the desert birds and doddering turtles, for the roaming lions and fantastical beasts he tamed and slew in the same breath.

Gilgamesh gives it a gentle stroke along its beak, to a pleased awk-awk from the chick. Bond successfully established.]

You must give it a name. Something to compliment its color, such as... viridian! But that's too much of a mouthful, I'd say.

[Thinking, thinking... ah, perfect.]

How about "Vivi"? It's cute.
