You have found the Mailbox/Inbox of Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, owner and teacher of the training school, Spiral. If you have business with him or the school, please feel free to leave a message and he will get back to you as soon as possible. Considering his abilities, that might be quicker than you think...
i am so sorry for the lateness!
[When he's asked about strength versus agility, he responds after a short pause to weigh his feelings on the matter.]
I think that both are necessary in different ways. I tend to rely on them in tandem, both with my sword and when it comes to magic.
I'd be interested to see what your style is as well, so a spar sounds perfect.
[Though he's much more muted, he's no less excited to finally get a chance to spar with someone that has such a healthy knowledge of the inner workings of a battle. Vergil is someone that nearly always jumps at the chance to test himself against a worthy opponent, but he's also someone with a respect for and -- interest in -- other forms that he may not be familiar with.
When control is mentioned, Vergil nods his agreement.]
It's always unfortunate to see someone with a great amount of potential mishandle their power because they can't control it -- or worse, deny it entirely because the intensity frightens them.
[Similarly, Vergil's opinion of Diarmuid climbs ever higher with this conversation. Not only does someone actually agree with him on the subject of guns, but running into someone that sincerely understands the importance of a specific weapon is something he didn't think he'd encounter.]
I appreciate your understanding. Few people would take something like that seriously, which makes me all the more certain that I'd like to spend more time here.
[Which is to say that he knows he's doing the right thing, asking to teach alongside someone that understands the codes that govern him.]
I'll keep that offer in mind.
No worries! :-)
[Diarmuid first lived 2000 years ago and while he had to learn most weapons that were common to the area during his time in the Fianna, there are some very glaring gaps in his knowledge as well.]
Those who have both are at a very definite advantage, so I would consider you a lucky man. I have great agility, but strength is something of a weak point for me. At least compared to others of my kind.
[His strength is far above that a normal human would have, but quite lacking when compared to other servants.]
Whenever you feel up to a spar, let me know. I will look forward to it. If you don't mind me asking, do you know someone who handled their power in such a way? It sounds as if you have a lot of experience with the subject.
[The question isn't lingered on, though, making it clear that if Vergil doesn't want to answer it, Diarmuid won't press for an answer. Not only does he value control, he knows how important it is not to push too hard for an answer someone doesn't want to give.]
For me, control is especially important because I dual-wield spears. I also dual-wield swords, but the spears are my focus right now. It's not something that many people do because it is very difficult to pull off effectively because it requires great control and focus.
[Effectively: as in a way that doesn't result in in maiming or killing themselves instead of their opponent.]
You are welcome here as often as you like, then. I will be glad to have you around. It is not every day that I run into someone who is of such a like mind as myself.
