I am glad you like it, and though your compliment is kind, I think I will have to stick with my day job. The druids of my day spent a lot of time trying to teach me magic as a child, but I didn't really have any skill with it. Now, my whole being is magic, so I can work with the energy a little better, but that doesn't make me anywhere talented enough to have a career in it. I am just happy to be able to do small things to help protect my friends.

(OOC: No worries! I just didn't want to assume anything. :-) )

Well, you could have fooled me. Let me know if you would like any wards or other protection spells done on your home. I am more familiar with theoretical aspects of magic as opposed to practically using it, but wards are my strength.

I will keep that in mind. Twilight Sparkle and I have been working on some warding for the school, but things are still in the testing stages.

[As in, they really do need to be able to get in and out of the school once the wards are set.]

What do you need for your wards? Do you ward spaces, to objects?

[He's seen a lot of variations over his lifetime. Kayneth was a master at warding, for what little good it did them. Special tip: If you takes hours warding a hotel for security, make sure you ward the basement too.]

[Duly noted; such a loophole was horrible! But he was right: they still needed to get in and out, being magical beings themselves.] I could assist with the testing, if you'd like. As for my wards, they are sutras, spells made on paper, so they create protective shields to spaces. One can move them around, but it's generally best not to. What have you been warding against?

Ah, nothing too specific. What I am trying to do is think proactively. Several times in the past the school has become a safe house for people when events have been particularly violent. Any extra protection against whatever threatening forces might be at work is what I am looking for. I want to make sure the school remains a safe place no matter what threatens those inside.

That is a good idea. I am sure you're not the only one who would like to keep it safe. Would you like me to come by sometime and show you a sutra, see if it would work well with the other magics you have in place?

I would like that very much. I would also be curious to see if I have any talent with them. The magic I've learned to do since coming here has all been through techniques taught by friends from worlds other than my own.
