MAJOR CHANGES
POST BATTLE:
- His right arm is missing at the shoulder.
- There are several 'bleed over' effects from his Master/Servant bond with Alyosha because various factors. These include:
- When his emotions are high (especially when he is angry) he will grow fangs and the pupils of his eyes will slit like a snake's eyes.
- He will crave blood whenever his energy levels are low or whenever Alyosha is strongly craving it herself. This is partly because of her being a vampire, but also because on his world, blood is one of the things that carries magical energy and so he knows it is a source of gaining that energy should he need it.
- Because of Alyosha's shadow magic, when Diarmuid uses his fire ring, the fire summoned will be shadow tinted instead of normal.
- Unspecified bleed over from the sigil magic that is so tightly tied to her.
POST TIMESKIP:
- No longer introduces himself as 'Lancer.' Instead, he uses his real name.
- Diarmuid's fighting style shifts to something reminiscent of Capoeira. His right leg is used as much as possible in place of his missing right arm, and as a result of that, his right leg now is lightly armored from knee to foot with armor that is much like that which was once on his left arm. His boot has also been modified with a hidden blade. The blade can be released with a certain tap of his foot giving him a second weapon should he need it.

SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS
If Diarmuid was confused going into the battle, he is even more so coming out of it. Both castles lie in ruins, untold numbers are dead on all sides, and who knows how many worlds went with them? What good came of all of it? None. None that Diarmuid can see. As a result, he is pushed even more toward favoring the neutral side. Deep down, he no longer fully considers himself Seelie. The golden cloak that marks him as a knight of the Golden Cadre is not a badge of honor, but a reminder that even knights can take the wrong path. After he recovers from losing his right arm and spends some time learning to fight again, he will focus on strengthening his bonds with his family and friends. It doesn't matter what side they are on for he does not see them as Seelie or Unseelie. They are family. They are friend. That is all that matters. When not helping Alyosha, his new Master, and fighting the Neutral fight, he will also spend time training others, building his personal training ground at Caer Glaem, and...breeding bandersnatches? Well, at least trying. Who knows if the bandersnatches will cooperate...
Of course, all of that will be put to the side when it comes time to spoil babbins and mercenar-- Err, wait, that should be spoiling babbins and LEADING mercenaries. That's better...
PLANS
- Recover from his injuries both physically and mentally.
- Adjust to his new Master/Servant bond with Alyosha and the bleed over.

No, that means that they start roughhousing.
Merida pinches the bridge of her nose with a small sigh, placing a hand on her thigh and resting her elbow on the other as she watches them with some bemusement before she spots Diarmuid, giving him a wry smile.]
no subject
I hope he didn't startle you too much.
[A loud thump draws Diarmuid's attention away from her for a moment and to the playing animals. However, when he sees Oscar shaking his head and throwing himself back into the playing, Diarmuid attention quickly shifts back to Merida.]
How are things going with your shard?
no subject
I'm used to that kind of thing from my brothers, I'm hardly startled anymore.
[Still, Merida stands as Diarmuid comes over, brushing her skirts off. She glances down at the puppies as they bark, one of them thumping against the ground, simply too exhausted by the heat to bother with playing. The other two are more than game, however, one of them attempting to tackle the bandersnatch. Merida gives them a small smile of amusement before turning her attention back to him.]
Mmm. I can activate it without gettin' tired so much now. I've been tryin' to space it out an' see how long I can hold it for. So far it's... [She tilts her head up to look at the sun, shielding her face with a hand before dropping it and her head.] Half an hour at most.
no subject
Meanwhile, Diarmuid frowns slightly as Merida mentions how long she is able to use her shard for now. He is not upset about time, however. It's her reaction to the time that bothers him. He reaches out with one hand and tries to gently pull her head up if she will let him.]
Hey, 30 minutes isn't bad. Remember, your shard is meant to give you a boost when you really need it. Using is for an extended amount of time isn't really the right way to use it. Yes, sometimes it is necessary, but more often than not, a short time is all you need.
no subject
Merida nudges him lightly with her foot before Diarmuid tilts her head up, blinking a little at him and then rubbing her head, fingers threading through her short hair. It was already starting to grow back some, though still far shorter than it had been.]
Ach, I meant thirty minutes on an' off. I just do little bursts every few minutes. [She gives him a sheepish smile, dropping her hand.] Sorry. I know it's only meant to be used for a short time.
no subject
Oh...I misunderstood. Sorry about that.
[To distract her from his mistake, he reaches up and lightly pulls on the bang that falls into her face once she is done messing with her hair.]
You are doing very well. That's all that matters. Have you gotten used to your mane being so short? It's cute.
[Oh wow, Diarmuid stop being so embarrassingly like a dad.]
no subject
[Her eyes cross when his hand reaches up to tug at her bang, closing them to fix her sight and giving a small pout, placing her hands on her hips. It's good natured though, if the grin she gives after is anything to go by, reaching up to tug at the back of it.]
Not quite. It's been long ever since I was a wee girl. I never let mum cut it, not even for th' games for my hand.
no subject
[Diarmuid has to admit it had saddened him when he saw she had cut it. There was something so alive about her hair and it just added that much more life to her presence. Perhaps it is a silly thing to have felt, but he had felt that way nonetheless.]
Do you feel up to some training today? Or at least laughing at me when I try and fail again to control that dumb ring?
no subject
[It was really the only thing that the healing rune she'd used on herself hadn't been able to fix, she thought a little mournfully, lifting at a corner and fixing an eye on it before she drops it and returns her attention to him. It's then that a smile breaks out across her face, grinning from ear to ear at the last part.]
We could always do both? I know I wouldn't mind a good laugh.
no subject
[Diarmuid laughs and then starts to lead her away from the playing puppies and bandersnatch cub so they don't get in the way while they are practicing.]
Which would you like first? Training or watching me embarrass myself?
no subject
[The puppies stay to play with Oscar rather than follow after mum, though the napping one eventually moves to follow them and under one of the trees. Merida stretches her arms into the air and crosses them behind her head, still cheeky.]
I think trainin' first. It wouldn't do you to hurt yourself before we can get anythin' done.
no subject
[Diarmuid laughs, making a motion to ruffle her hair, but pulling back before he actually does. He doesn't want to lose his other hand to that wild mop...]
Your tongue is perfectly sharp as it is!
no subject
[She looks a bit disappointed, but it's quickly covered up by her jibe, hands moving to her hips.]
no subject
[He laughs and then his hand darts out to complete the ruffle of her hair that he had not finished before. He makes sure to pull some down into her eyes as he finishes.]
no subject
[Merida splutters as her hair is ruffled and pulled over her eyes despite still being quite an amount shorter than what it used to be. She reaches up, brushing it away from her eyes with a look before reaching up to tug at his bang.]
no subject
[His objection is halfhearted at best, though. Diarmuid knows full well that if he is going to give, he has to get. It is only fair.]
All right, all right. Lets get to training before we pull each other bald. What would you like to begin with?
no subject
Well, since I've been practicin' with my shard just now, how about we do somethin' with your fire?
no subject
Actually, before we start, can I ask you something? Remember what connecting to your shard was like back when I first helped you figure out how to connect with it? I know a lot changed for you while you were home. Did that affect how working with your shard feels?
no subject
[The question catches her off guard before she pauses, tilting her head in consideration. It wasn't as though she hadn't noticed anything off but still, he does bring up a very good point.]
Aye, I suppose it did. [She nods, biting her bottom lip and shifting a little.] Before, I was drawin' on my anger at my mother and th' way I felt about th' betrothal. I noticed back when I first woke that it was a bit...harder, since we reconciled an' agreed that I'd be able to choose when an' who I wanted.
no subject
[He falls silent for a few moments thinking over the information she has given him.]
Have you tried seeing if there is something else that will help you connect better now? Something besides your anger? Actually, come to think of it, you have switched courts as well. Reevaluating your methods might be required at this point.
no subject
[Despite having talked to a few people about it. Merida gives a small sigh, then shrugs her shoulders.]
Lord El-Melloi suggested it was because my place on th' scale had changed. When it comes to th' fae, I doubt it could ever be that simple.
no subject
[He makes a helpless motion with his hand.]
And when you look at it that way, it is a lot harder. When we change, we are often blind to just what that change is.
no subject
[Though part of her was still childish and selfish, she had grown in leaps and bounds in mere months since her arrival in the Drabwurld. Merida looked down at her skirts, fidgeting with them as she thought to herself.]
Th' fact that I'm in lo... [She sighs a little. She hadn't admitted it to herself or to him yet, so her mouth clamps shut.] I've come to realise that there needs to be order to chaos, that it can't be uprooted in th' middle of th' night just because I wish it. That I can be both a warrior an' a diplomat, I don't have to stick to one or th' other. [Merida draws her hands away, letting them swing a little at her side before reeling them in.] My world isn't quite so rocky anymore. I don't have all that anger I was holdin' onto.
no subject
[A small smile curls the corner of his mouth when she stops herself from saying 'love.' The emotion is a very strong and complex one. When feeling it for the first time, it is only natural for it to be hard to admit it. It makes everything real then.]
Do you know what your goal is now? Protection? Preservation? Love? Order? Peace?
[Yep, he totally just mentioned it out loud since she couldn't.]
Any one of those might be a good replacement.
no subject
I want to fight, to protect an' preserve those who can't do so themselves. [Her voice is quiet when she responds, expression contemplative before she sighs.] Things are only goin' to get harder. I won't be able to hide th' fact that I was brought over to th' Seelie for much longer. Even if I don't agree with their goals an' methods, I'll still be lumped in with them.
[By them she meant the monarchs, the more fanatical soldiers.]
