There is really no way to know that they didn't unless we can find a copy of something that has some of the history of the Fianna and my Lord Fionn in it covering the time after I died. That is information I do not have myself.

Honestly? I'm not very familiar with companion animals, or animal mascots. I have heard good things about those small dragons everybody seems to be getting. But they're common by now. Maybe a unicorn?

A unicorn? Don't those only let pure-hearted maidens near them? I am certainly neither of those things.

That is true. It would be a lot more unique than a dog or a cat, though, I have to admit I do think the little dragons are nice as well.

[Amusingly enough, despite all the fantastic creatures that roamed Ancient Ireland, they had no dragons. Dragons were always creatures that people spoke of other places having. To see them now--no matter how common they might be--is still amazing to Diarmuid.]
