Ruby City Mailbox/Inbox

You have found the Mailbox/Inbox of Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, owner and teacher of the training school, Spiral. If you have business with him or the school, please feel free to leave a message and he will get back to you as soon as possible. Considering his abilities, that might be quicker than you think...

[He's faced down armies of 800 plus men, fought a giant cyclops, and hunted monstrous animals. Little intimidates him anymore.]
But what is so wrong with being cute? It's not a bad thing.
no subject
People don't take cute things seriously.
[ Totally not puffing up at his phone in affront. ]
no subject
People who don't take things seriously just because they are cute are fools. Cats or dogs can be cute, but then they can turn right around and maim or kill you. My daughter was cute, but she could easily gut a man. She took her training just as seriously as her brothers did.

[ He hasn't heard this, before. Or perhaps he did, when he was sick; but the aftereffects of the Chaos cloud, as well as the fever, make anything from those days difficult to recall. ]

Yes, I had five children. Four of them were boys and one was a girl. The youngest actually. She was a curious girl, that one, and always wanted to be doing what her brothers were doing. I think the modern term for someone like that is a 'tom boy?'
you just been waiting to bust out that icon haven't you
And five children, huh.
Did any of them
I mean
Are any of them like you?
[ Alive, as a heroic spirit. ]
Hehehe...
[What he doesn't know is that Clan Campbell claims descent from him which means at least a couple of his kids must have done something right...]

You make it sound like one of them may have gone rogue. There's no way your children could have been anything but heroes.
no subject
There is really no way to know that they didn't unless we can find a copy of something that has some of the history of the Fianna and my Lord Fionn in it covering the time after I died. That is information I do not have myself.
no subject
Unfortunately, I never came across a copy of anything like that.
[ Which is a shame. He'd like to be able to help, in this case. ]
no subject
It's all right. Sometimes it is best not to know. Just...in case.
[It would kill him to know that most of his children died at the Battle of Gabhra. Yes, they were warriors' deaths, but the battle was one fought because of Fionn's foolishness...]
[TEXT]
Yeah, you're right.
You're--
[ Awkward, fumbling. He's not used to this kind of concern. ]
--okay, though? Here.
[ He doesn't enjoy the thought of Diarmuid being unhappy, or lonely, in Ruby City. ]
[TEXT]
Sometimes the school seems a little empty now that it is so close to being finished, but I am sure that will change once it is opened and more people are visiting.
[And that is the closest he will get to admitting that just maybe, sometimes, he gets a little lonely...]
[TEXT]
Can't slack on training just because Father isn't here.
[ Won't be alone. ]
[TEXT]
[Thank you, Damian.]
You know, sometime I should get a pet to be the school's mascot. What do you think I should get?
Re: [TEXT]
[ Excuse you, kiddo, Dick can show you the floor whenever he wants. ]
Hm. Have you considered Mordred for the position?
[TEXT]
[And he is totally not laughing at the Mordred crack. You saw nothing.]
Mordred has already accepted the job of gopher. I don't want to overburden her...
[TEXT]
True. Limited responsibilities are the best choice with that one.
[ Everyone knows Damian wouldn't let her be mascot, anyway. Duarmuid is his mentor. He only shares Pendragon because of blood rights. ]
[TEXT]
So not Mordred. Do you have any other ideas?
[He is just going to quietly sidestep that dig at Mordred. You like her, Damian. Admit it.]
Re: [TEXT]
Honestly? I'm not very familiar with companion animals, or animal mascots.
I have heard good things about those small dragons everybody seems to be getting. But they're common by now. Maybe a unicorn?
[ No. ]
[TEXT]
A unicorn? Don't those only let pure-hearted maidens near them? I am certainly neither of those things.
Re: [TEXT]
I don't know about the maiden thing, but it'd be one-of-a-kind as far as mascots go.
[TEXT]
That is true. It would be a lot more unique than a dog or a cat, though, I have to admit I do think the little dragons are nice as well.
[Amusingly enough, despite all the fantastic creatures that roamed Ancient Ireland, they had no dragons. Dragons were always creatures that people spoke of other places having. To see them now--no matter how common they might be--is still amazing to Diarmuid.]

also i have been breaking MY brain figuring out DC timelines and his b-day is totes non-canonical.
*pats* It's okay. Diarmuid's is non-canon too. Neither the anime/myth give anything to go by.
it wouldn't be so bad if DC actually indicated seasons/a timeline OTL
But that would require continuity...
i hear continuity is poisonous to dc
I have heard this too. IT MUST BE TRUE! X.x
